After the recent success of the HBO series based on the Chernobyl Disaster, I reflected on my visit to the area last year.
It is hard to describe visiting the Chernobyl Exclusion zone. It is a time capsule, abandoned in haste and never returned to. Nature has reclaimed the area, with its last few inhabitants making a stand and refusing to leave despite the risks.
The area is both fascinating and tragic to explore.
